Congratulations, Harlow Kelsey, Holiday Card Winner!

Congratulations to our Holiday Card winners! We will release each design separately over the next couple of weeks. We are proud of our students and amazed at their talent. Thank you art teachers for cultivating that talent. Winners, their art teacher, and principal all received blank cards to share. The LCSD Board of Trustees and Board attorney received a set of blank cards. Cards signed by Dr. Fitzpatrick were sent to our partners.

"Any way you slice it, we are grateful for you!" Administrators were out making rounds this morning showing appreciation to all faculty and staff! They had a cart full of a variety of pies for today's treat!

The National Guard treated our faculty and staff to a sub sandwich lunch today! We appreciate all that the National Guard does to support our school and our students!

Mark your calendars and make plans to join us in January for Parent Night at the Career Center!

The Ambush Club & the Heyward Family volunteered their Saturday morning on Dec 7 to support the long running event “Christmas with Chuck”, a toy and canned food donation drive that supports the entire Lancaster County. The volunteers consisted of the Yarborough Family and other community members. Santa Claus made an appearance along with a car show. Thank you to the event coordinator, Mrs. Lori Yarborough, for partnering with the Ambush Club! Happy Holidays.

A few of our faculty and staff were feeling festive yesterday on wear your best holiday hat day!

This is what happens when three programs come together to honor the memory of a former instructor that we lost too soon. The carpentry, machine tool, and culinary programs have come together to create the Chef Gregg Shipston Culinary Arts Library. Chef Shipston was the original Culinary Arts instructor at the Career Center. Many of the books in this library were donated by Elise Shipston from Gregg's collection. This will be an incredible resource for students as well as a lasting memorial for Chef Shipston.

Our faculty and staff are counting down the days to Christmas break with some fun dress-up days to get everyone in the spirit! Today was "Rudolph Red." Several of our faculty and staff members showed up in their best holiday red attire!

Students in the Law Enforcement Services program received a visit from Deputy Sheriff Glenn Remsen. He is the Critical Infrastructure Protection Program Coordinator for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in Columbia, South Carolina. The students were able to benefit from Deputy Remsen's unique law enforcement position as a proactive force multiplier instead of being reactive in traditional law enforcement duties. He achieves this in his position by conducting site surveys and VIP Protection. After Deputy Remsen completed his classroom portion, he walked the students around campus to give them a demonstration on how his team conducts surveys and identifies certain vulnerabilities. This was a truly enlightening experience for the students and a chance for them to get out of the classroom on a cold windy day. Thank you Deputy Remsen for spending your time with and investing your knowledge with the students of the LCSD Career Center!

It was plaid day at the Career Center!

Students in Mr. Heyward’s Law Enforcement Services cluster at all levels got the chance to attend their first industry visit of the year to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Training Facility on Nov. 20. The students spent the entire day at the two locations receiving briefs, tours and a chance to participate in the Law Enforcement obstacle course. The information sessions, tours, demonstrations and briefs included Crime Scene Investigations, Training Facility, Training Village, Drone Usage, K-9, Traffic Section, and their Shoot No-Shoot Simulator. Somehow, there’s a feeling the obstacle course was their favorite session. Thank you to Sheriff Faile for opening his office to the students of the Career Center and Sergeant Bill Murphy for his continued support and coordination to make this field trip happen. And yes, Mr. Heyward participated in the obstacle course well, lol!
