The Ambush Club dedicated their Tuesday afternoon on November 4th to volunteering with the Greater New Hope Soup Kitchen of Lancaster, a local nonprofit organization. Our mentees assisted with sorting food, cleaning the facility, wrapping items, labeling to-go plates, preparing containers, and contributing meaningful support to the daily operations of the kitchen. It was a wonderful day of service, and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community. A special thank you to Publix Charities for generously providing the meal for this event. Your support is truly appreciated!

Join us tonight for the LCSD Board of Trustees elections at 4:30 p.m. Public Session begins at 7:00pm.

Happy early Thanksgiving from the Ambush Club!
This year, we were honored to partner with Food Lion on Airport Road to host the LCSD Career Center’s annual Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway. Thanks to the generous support of our staff, teachers, and community, we were able to identify students, families, and community members in need, and ensure each one received a complete Thanksgiving meal, including a fresh turkey and all the traditional sides.
On November 14, Career Center Administration and Ambush Club members delivered 30 meals to the Greater New Hope Soup Kitchen to support its mission of serving our local community. On November 15, the Heyward Family delivered the remaining 10 meals to the Girls Home of Lancaster County and to five LCSD Career Center families.
This Thanksgiving effort was truly a community-wide collaboration made possible by our dedicated administration, select teachers and support staff, Ambush Club mentees, and our incredible partners who donated food boxes. A special thank you to Food Lion (Airport Rd. location) for your unwavering support and generosity. Your commitment to our students and community continues to inspire us, and you remain an outstanding example for our youth to follow. Wishing everyone a warm, safe, and joyful holiday season! 🧡🦃✨

Law Enforcement Services students had the privilege of interacting with police officers from the Rock Hill City Police Department on November 6. During the visit, officers discussed key topics including the use of technology in law enforcement, body cameras, community relations, career specialties, and the unique challenges faced in modern policing. Students also had the opportunity to explore the equipment and tools used by patrol officers during their shifts and observe live demonstrations of a felony traffic stop and a domestic disturbance response. Several students even had the chance to participate in the exercises, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Overall, it was an engaging and educational experience that deepened students’ understanding of law enforcement practices. Special thanks to Captain Stinson, Sergeant Andrews, and Sergeant Beach of the Rock Hill Police Department for dedicating their time and expertise to support the LCSD Career Center Law Enforcement program.

The Ambush Club had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Rev. Anthony Pelham, CEO of The Community Powerhouse, for their October 22nd presentation titled “Making Good Decisions.” Rev. Pelham’s engaging session inspired thoughtful reflection and meaningful discussion among members about how the choices they make today can impact their lives five days, five weeks, five months, and even five years from now. It was an impactful and insightful experience. The Ambush Club is honored to benefit from Rev. Pelham’s expertise and guidance this year. A special thank you to Comporium for generously providing the meal for this event.

We would like to say thank you to all veterans for their service!
